The Union Square Business Improvement District (BID)

While over 1000 BIDs exist in the United States, the Union
Square BID was the first one formed in San Francisco.  
Since July 1998, MJM Management Group has contracted
with the BID to provide safety and hospitality services
through uniformed “Ambassadors” as well as
maintenance which includes sidewalk sweeping, steam
cleaning and graffiti removal. The BID was renewed by
the property owners in 2003 for another five years.

The Director of Operations for the BID works under the
direction of Leigh Ann Baughman the Executive Director
and in partnership with the Department of Public Works,
the San Francisco Police Department and other city
departments to resolve situations that may require a
